English translation: Started the day by getting repackaged from sled life to more standard backpack and hiking life, took some time as we have completely forgotten how our habits should be without sled.
After a while we repackaged and started the day. Asphalt, sun and hot weather are amazing! Even though you really feel that we now suddenly have to carry a lot more on our backs, it is incredibly wonderful to be back on our feet and let go of the snowshoes.
As we lost altitude, it just got hotter and hotter, smells and sounds came back. Very strange after hearing and seeing very little other than white snow and the occasional grouse in the last month.
We follow a fairly large road with a lot of heavy transport, so not too comfortable. Luckily, the main road often goes in tunnels, where we follow the old road around, or there are some paths in parallel, so we get some breaks from time to time.
The first store is in a couple of days and we are starting to run out of a lot of various foods, so the diet is quite one-sided now. Coincidentally, we saw on a sign along the road that they were selling goat cheese. Longing for whatever, we called to ask if we could buy. “What were we interested in”, asked the lady? “One of every thing you sell”, we replied. So now we are sitting in the tent eating butter and goat cheese with a spoon. For what else do we have to eat with it? But it does not matter, because it was terribly good with some new flavors after much of the same.
Thanks 👍😀
Spring at last! Fantastic for you to leave winter behind and hike beside a river swelled with spring runoff from the melting snow. I love the pictures. Benjamin, you look like the quintessential Norwegian man in the last picture.
Yeah, really feel spring feeling finally now as we declined little but in elevation. Look forward for even warmer 😊 Happy to hear you enjoy the pictures, the goat cheese picture is pretty crazy 😂 I think I got my portion of goat cheese for a while. 🤔
