Fortsatt mye gjørme og myr her over fjellet. Varierende motivasjon i slikt terreng.
English translation: After a night in a tent in the marsh, when there was not much alternative, we headed for the next and last cabin for a while. Last night had been really cold and the water in Camelback had frozen and broken one of the valves for closing the water. We ordered a new valve delivered to the next post in the shop, which we will be arriving in less than a week. Until then, we’ll have to make do without the Camelback. After such a cold night, we see that we need other equipment before we go up to an altitude of 1,000 meters to sleep, above Børgefjell. So we need to get some equipment planned to be sent as soon as possible, so that we have time to get this before we need it.
Good weather with sun and blue skies at times, and otherwise cloudy and raining. Still a lot of mud and bog here over the mountain. We fall a lot in slippery mud, but make our way step by step towards the cabin. Varying motivation in such terrain. It’s nice to experience Trøndelag’s marshes, but I think we’ve had enough of the mountain tour here. Feels like we’ve had enough of Trøndelag’s marshes now. (or as the cabin guard called this, Trøndelag’s high mountain) We can’t wait to get to the road now.
To our great surprise, we found a large and well-kept cabin in the middle of the mountain. Here it was absolutely fantastic to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sun with a good break. It’s just a shame we had just had a longer break so it was just a quick stop before we continued again.
The cabin we were going to was down in the forest again, so we made our way down the mountain to the cabin. Even though it was only 8 kilometers, we spent a lot of time and it felt heavy because of all the mud we walked in.
A little demotivated, we arrived at the cabin, to our great surprise we had received many nice snaps congratulating us for having hiked for 100 days from young and old. Incredibly sweet, fun and motivating to receive something like this! Thank you very much!
We arrived at a great cabin, with a nice drying room, large provision room with both pasta, noodles, pancakes and oil for frying. We started it all by opening tinned fruit and enjoyed this as a starter. Fantastic. We decided to celebrate such a great cabin and day 100 with a rest day here at the cabin tomorrow. It’s also the last cabin for a while and a lot of rain has been reported, so it’s nice to make use of this now when we can.
Thanks Carol 👍👍👍
…And I would walk 100 days, and I would walk 100 more …
Congratulations on making it 100 days! Proud of you. When anyone asks me what my daughter in Norway does, I just tell them “She walks :)’
That is just so hilarious, she walks 🤣 pretty accurate at the moment 😅
Thanks for the congratulations! It’s pretty crazy how long of a hike and journey this has been.
hi Liz and Benjamin happy 100 days! love you
-Anna
Hi Anna, thank you so much, that is motivating for us 😊
You two are amazing! Keep on “just putting one foot in front of the other.” Wishing you health and strength…
Hehe yeah, thanks Pauline 😀
Hehe, Step by step. That’s sometimes, when the motivation is low, the only thing you have in mind. But all the nice moments makes up for that, and gives you motivation 😊
You two are ambitious!! This is like eating an elephant,… one step at a time!! Be safe, good luck, keep on stepping!
Thank you Tom! 😊
Hehe never heard that comparison before 🤣 We will probably just reach to eat 2/3 of the elephant tho, so I think we need the freeze the leftovers till the date we would continue the hike 🤔 I think we might need an American sized freezer 🙃
Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.
Thanks for the motivation Marie! 😊😀
